Computer Lab
St. Matthew Parish School has dedicated itself to a commitment to and implementation of technology. In addition to its computer lab equipped with 35 computers using Windows 7 OS,
St. Matthew also has technology in each classroom and the school library. SMART Boards and media projectors are available in most classrooms. Technology is no longer just an asset in schools, but a necessity for student’s learning.

St. Matthew students use computers to access textbooks and additional resources; and complete on-line assessments for Accelerated Reader and STAR programs. Library computers are used by students to locate materials for check-out. Many of these same assets are also available from home.

Computer learning is incorporated into grade-level curriculum by each teacher with the assistance of a full-time technology coordinator. In this way, technology enhances all aspects of classroom teaching. The students use Microsoft Office in a variety of ways. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher are used beginning in Grade 2. Inspiration, KidPix and Type to Learn are other programs available for student use. Jumpstart titles make learning fun for our youngest students.
